What we collect, why, and how to make us stop.

Who we are
Jessi Publications, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. Contact: privacy@jessipublications.com.
The short version
Browsing this website does not require an account and we do not build a profile of you for advertising. If you write to us we keep what you sent so we can answer. If a parent or school creates a MyJessi profile for a child, we hold the least we can to make a useful recommendation, and the adult who created it can see it, correct it or delete it.
What we collect
- Visiting the site
- Standard server logs kept by our host — IP address, browser, pages requested, time. Used to keep the site running and to spot abuse. Not used to identify you.
- Writing to us
- Whatever you put in the message: your name, email, school, and what you asked. Kept so we can answer and so we have a record of the enquiry.
- A MyJessi profile
- Display name, age band, class, activated books, interests, capability labels and recent activity within the programme. Created and controlled by a parent or an authorised school administrator, never by the child alone.
- AI features
- Only where switched on. We send the programme context and a pseudonymous reference to the provider — not a name, not a date of birth, not a full history.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not serve advertising. We do not build an advertising profile from a child’s learning behaviour. We do not track anyone across other websites. We do not collect precise location.
Children
Parts of this site are meant for children, so the stricter rules apply to all of it. A profile for a child is created by a parent or an authorised school administrator, who gives consent for each feature separately. Personalised and AI features are off until an adult switches them on. We do not use a child’s data for behavioural advertising or for tracking, and we do not knowingly collect more than a recommendation needs.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. For a child’s profile, the parent or school administrator who created it can do the same. Write to privacy@jessipublications.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied, you may raise the matter with the Data Protection Board of India.
Grievance officer
Name and contact details of the grievance officer to be added before publication, as required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who else sees it
Our web host, our email provider, and — only where an AI feature has been switched on — the AI provider, and then only the programme context and a pseudonymous reference. We do not pass personal data to anyone else except where the law requires it.
Changes
If we change this we will change the date at the top. If a change materially affects a child profile, we will tell the adult who controls it rather than rely on you noticing.
